Matchstick Productions was honored to provide aerial cinematography for this powerful UC Health spot, telling an inspiring story of resilience and determination.
Using our 6K Cineflex stabilization system, we captured cinematic, sweeping aerials that enhanced the depth and emotion of Kim Hess’s remarkable journey. A dedicated mountaineer from Steamboat Springs, Kim sustained a serious hand and wrist injury while descending Denali’s 20,310-foot summit in Alaska. Facing a complex surgery, she delivered a bold statement to her surgeon, Dr. Michael Gordon at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital—her hand had to be perfect because she planned to climb Mount Everest the following year.
This project was more than just breathtaking visuals—it was about capturing the human spirit, determination, and the cutting-edge medical expertise that makes dreams possible.
